  • description: a train design
    year: 2009
    status: concept - school project
head of a design studio: Doc.Ing.arch. Patrik Kotas

In the future, the magnetic levitation technology seems to be a great alternative for the usual railway transportation. It has several advantages, which the transport on rails cannot outbid. A high speed (up to 580 km/h and unlimited in vacuum), with a low noise, a little burden for a landscape, a low energy consumption and a low operating costs make the technology enviroment-friendly. The project solves the design of a maglev train transporting passengers in-between Munich City and Franz Josef Strauss airport, distanted 37 km from the city. Three trains alternating on two routes depart every 10 minutes. One way takes 10 minutes.
